The day after the horrific massacre in Pahalgam, on Wednesday morning, two terrorists attempted to infiltrate into India by crossing the Line of Control (LoC) at Uri in the Baramulla district of Kashmir. The Indian Army neutralized them on the spot.
The Indian Army issued a statement on Wednesday confirming this. A large cache of firearms and live ammunition was recovered from the two terrorists. The statement further mentioned that on Wednesday, at least 2–3 terrorists were trying to infiltrate India through the LoC at Uri in Baramulla district. Their attempt was foiled.
Upon receiving information, Indian Army personnel rushed to the area. A gunfight ensued between the two sides for quite some time, during which the two terrorists were killed.
In Tuesday afternoon’s terrorist attack in Pahalgam, many tourists lost their lives. Among the deceased were three residents of West Bengal. The list of injured is also notably long.
On Tuesday night, the Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba’s shadow organization “The Resistance Front” (TRF) claimed responsibility for the attack.
On Wednesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the attack site. That morning, he paid his respects to those killed in the Pahalgam terrorist attack and also spoke with the families of the deceased.
The entire incident is being thoroughly investigated by the NIA (National Investigation Agency).
