Naveen Kumar, a sharpshooter from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was shot dead in an encounter. He opened fire at the police, and during the gunfight, he was injured. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Naveen was a resident of Ghaziabad and was wanted in more than 20 cases.
Sanjana Lahiri, Reporter – In a joint operation conducted by the Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh Police and the Special Cell of Delhi Police, 37-year-old Naveen Kumar, a sharpshooter of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was killed on Wednesday night. Investigators had received intelligence that a terrorist was hiding in the Kotwali area of Hapur district, Uttar Pradesh. Acting on this information, a joint police team raided the location.
As soon as the police arrived, Naveen opened fire at them. During the gunfight, Naveen Kumar was critically injured. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Naveen was from Ghaziabad and was wanted in over 20 criminal cases, including murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, and robbery. According to police sources, Naveen was closely associated with Hasim Baba, another prominent member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
The Bishnoi gang has been linked to several high-profile crimes, including issuing multiple death threats to actor Salman Khan and plotting to kill Baba Siddique, a heavyweight politician in Mumbai and a close friend of Salman Khan.
