New Town Amateur Sports Club (NTASC) successfully completed the 100-ball Deuce Ball Cricket Tournament, New Town Residents’ Cup 2024, which concluded on December 7.
Over the course of a month, a total of 16 men’s teams and 6 women’s teams from various residential complexes in New Town participated in this tournament.
The finals, held on December 7, were graced by the presence of distinguished guests who added prestige to the event:
- Rahul Dev – Coach of Calcutta Customs Cricket Club and former Bengal Ranji player
- Mithu Paul Dev – Former India B team player
- Rituporna Roy – Former Bengal Women’s Ranji player and NCA coach
The club’s secretary, Devendra Kumar, extended heartfelt congratulations to all participants and NTASC team members for their time and hard work.
He also expressed gratitude to the New Town Kolkata Development Authority and the event sponsors — Sportinova, Castrol Power, HP World, Goodace Hospital, and Novotel — for their crucial support in making the event a success.
This event helped foster a spirit of sportsmanship and unity among New Town residents.
NTASC has announced plans to organize more tournaments in the future, aiming to further strengthen the environment of healthy competition and friendship among residents.
Additionally, NTASC continues to promote sports development in New Town by conducting cricket and football coaching camps for children at the BC Block ground, where both boys and girls can receive professional training.
